Ah, yes. There are lots of languages over there. They also sound quite distinct. You even got different writing systems in different parts. I learned a teeny tiny bit of Devanagari and Hindi (just enough to recognize a few words like idli, thali, samosa, etc. on a menu).

I’ve spent about 7 months in India and my parents met there :)
