Do your friends and family regularly read your words without you prompting them to do so? Or do they only read you when you ask them to? Because that might tell you more about whether they are actually interested in how and what you have to say in writing.

For the record, almost none of my family and real-world friends read my stuff. Which is fine. They have other interests. But it shows you that what friends and family like isn't representative of what an online audience may like :)
