Don’t beat yourself up, Jason. Making a living from the Partner Program is pretty much impossible even in the best of circumstances. So far I can’t make a living from my writing either and I’ve been writing almost full-time for more than a year and a half with a lot of support (I don’t pay rent because I live with my in-laws, I have some savings, my wife pays most of the bills with her job, and I’ve been lucky to have some editors from big pubs reach out to me and give me a hand). I can’t imagine having to write under your circumstances. I probably would have given up entirely.

Remember, all that Medium success porn you’re coming across just represents a teeny tiny fraction of all the writers here. They are outliers.
