Good point! Although I would like to clarify that I think AI can be helpful as an assistant.

It's sort of how as a writer I wouldn't want to go back to a time before Google search, when one had to go to actual libraries and flip through books.

So I'm OK with AI being used as an assistant, just as I am OK with someone using Google search. But just as I think it's uncool to copy-paste something you found on Google and pretend it's yours, I think it’s uncool to copy-paste something that AI spit out and pretend it's yours.

Also, if AI is used purely as an assistant, I don't think it will hurt your writing skills just as I don't think Google search has harmed the skills of current dedicated writers :)
