Hey Gaurav. I don’t quite agree. It’s 2022. Popooing online platforms in the 21st century as not being professional or “true” is a bit silly.

Yes, plenty of fumbling amateurs are on Medium, just like there are plenty of amateurs on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Substack. But all these platforms also have professional editors and content creators (even though all these platforms are “just” websites). In fact, many people who used to have jobs in TV, radio, or paper-based publications have moved on to these platforms.

I have a PhD, I have worked with professional editors with fancy degrees, and some of my work has been published by a traditional publisher that was founded in 1963. But I don’t look down on my peers here on Medium because of that. True, some editors on Medium accept everything and anything and they don’t really provide much value, but plenty of others do a great job! :)
