Hey Melia! I fully agree. There’s currently no incentive to make academic writing engaging. In fact, it’s even worse: you may actually face resistance in academia if you dare to make your writing fun. And that’s a shame.

But there are examples of fun academic writing. You can find several in the book The Writer’s Diet by Helen Sword. And Steven Pinker’s Why Academics Stink at Writing is also worth a read.

Thanks for the praise for my Zettelkasten article :-) I’m happy to hear that I managed to make the topic not boring :-)
