In their announcement Medium says:

> Referral earnings are recurring as long as the reader’s membership plan remains active.

I interpret that to mean that the referral earnings are indefinite for practical purposes. After all, the only way to stop them seems to be by having the reader cancel their Medium membership.

When you’re saying “updated TOS”, are you referring to another document? Have you read something different? If so, could you please link to it?
