I don’t think claps are a good metric to gauge the reader/writer ratio. My mom doesn’t write nor clap, but she reads.

I think writers just clap way more than your average non-writer. So of course pieces tailored to writers get more claps.

So I’m curious, did this story also get a disproportionate amount of reading time?

If so, that would give us more of a clue whether Medium is really just a mass of cannibalistic writers ;-)
