I guess the main reason HeHepedia wouldn't work is that most contributors with a scientific background are trained to write in dull style and lack the skills to write humorously.

But I get what you're saying. Sometimes you want to just get straight to the point. So Wikipedia articles are often written more with efficiency in mind than comprehensibility.
