I just crossed 7K followers too and just yesterday for the first time someone implied I’m a successful writer. That made me chuckle considering I’m making much less than minimum wage and am living with my in-laws.

But I must admit that when I started out I was also gawking at pretty much any Medium writer with more than 5K followers and thought they were all making big bucks.

Anyway, if anyone reading this also wants to have 7K followers, here’s the secret: do your thing, be ready to be a failure for a long time, and hope to get lucky.
