I think it all comes down to how extreme you are on the quality-obsessed spectrum. I have sometimes spend more than two weeks on a five-minute piece.

I know other writers do the same. That’s just too long on platforms that favor quantity. And it’s absolutely heartbreaking to spend so much time on a five-minute piece to then see it die within a day.

As I said elsewhere, a piece is never finished and it’s always a compromise. And sometimes the best compromise is to sacrifice a little bit of quality to become more prolific.
