I think with time the AI tools will get a lot better. And when that happens, I might begin to read one novel produced by an AI just out of curiosity. But I can't see myself ever reaching a point where I'd regularly prefer AI-written content over human-written content.

It's sort of how I can stand in awe in front of a medieval cathedral that was built through human labor, but I can't see myself standing in awe in front of 200 cathedrals that superficially look just as nice but that were all 3-D printed. Sure, the first 3-D printed cathedral might impress me. But the 200th that was spat out by a machine? Not so much :)
