I’m sure AI will get a lot better. But I think it doesn't matter. We still want to see humans perform art, sports, and other forms of entertainment—even if machines can do them better.

Think of it this way. Although we are the most intelligent species on Earth, we are not the fastest, strongest, or most agile. So if we just cared about who does it the best, we'd be watching animals compete in sports instead of humans. But we don't.

Yes, there are some sports in which animals compete that some humans watch (e.g. dog races). But these sports are nowhere as popular as human sports.

We humans are an extremely social species and we care a lot about other humans. That will remain true regardless of how much better than us certain animal species are at certain tasks or how much better machines get at certain tasks :)
