It sure would be nice if we could have more fine-grained control over our notifications. It can be a little noisy sometimes. Then again, never knowing whether it's a response, a clap, or a new follower probably helps in keeping writers hooked. It's sort of like this psychological trick videogames use, where you never know what you're going to get and that hooks players even more.
