My hypothesis is that cat lovers are all infected with toxoplasmosis, a parasite that can be transmitted from cats to humans and for which, according to Wikipedia, “there is tentative evidence that [it can] affect people’s behavior.” In other words, cat lovers are all under a brain altering spell induced by this parasite that turns them into servants for their feline masters.
