"No one cares about your life" is probably some of the worst advice you could give a writer because it's actually the exact opposite.

No one cares about anonymous brands. No one cares about a random unidentifiable intern writing for a corporate blog. No one cares about Wikipedia writers who don't reveal a thing about themselves.

But people care about other people. And the only way to truly show others that you're a real human being is to share at least some aspects of your life.
