Thanks for that, Thomas. I keep hearing search traffic is a big deal, but of all the articles I've written in two years, only one gets a significant amount of traffic from Google.

Maybe it's because my SEO sucks, but I suspect it's more because of how I write and what I write about. For instance, I think all the SEO in the world won’t put my joke and cartoon-laden stories about octopus or angler fish procreation anywhere near the front. Google seems to prefer more serious, encyclopedia-like, content. And yet, readers love jokes and cartoons, so I write for them and not Google.

But maybe I’m missing out. So I'm generally curious, does all the SEO tweaking you’re doing seem to make much of a difference? Do you get much search traffic? If so, what are those articles about?
