This is great! Although it would be nice if we could have some control over who is featured in the blogroll. Maybe add a checkbox next to each person I follow that says "enable featuring in blogroll: yes/no"?
Here are some reasons for why I want the control:
- I would like to use the blogroll to feature mostly unknown writers I think are great and not some writers I follow who already have massive audiences.
- I don't necessarily want to reward quantity over quality. If I understood correctly, those writers I follow who favor quantity would be featured more often in my blog roll than those who publish less frequently but favor quality.
- I may follow some writers I may be embarrassed to feature in my blogroll. For instance, I could be a writer who writes mostly about parenting and then I might not want to feature a fellow writer I'm following who often publishes erotica.
Note that if I have no direct control over the blogroll, I might even consider unfollowing some writers just to avoid them being featured in my blogroll. So the blogroll feature could actually harm some writers I had been following until now.
