Yeah, in fact, some incorrect punctuation and capitalization can even add to someone’s writing style (I remember coming across one writer who refuses to capitalize any letters and he seemed quite popular). Then again, I do understand the role of editors. Unfortunately, too many of them just focus on nitpicky stuff and don't provide any big-picture feedback that could actually improve a piece.
