yeah, writing to make $$$ is about as silly as becoming a musician to become rich and famous. The probability of you becoming a rockstar is almost 0. If you're lucky, you'll become a street performer who after a few hours of work earns enough coins to pay for a sandwich. And it's no different for writers!
