Yes, whatever floats your boat is what I'd recommend, especially if you're writing on Medium. Beause the nice thing about Medium is that people who want the same repetitive topic over and over can subscribe to publications about it. So you can write about whatever you want and then submit your writing into specific niche pubs :)
